KW V1 Coilovers – Audi S4 (B8)

The KW coilover kit Variant 1 “inox-line” is our entry model for more driving pleasure with an attractive and individually adjustable lowering. Due to its high-quality finish, the use of struts made from stainless steel, corrosion resistant springs and bump stops as well as compatible components stands for long driving pleasure – not just the car’s life.

Continuous lowering

With the KW coilover Variant 1 you can achieve maximum lowering in the tested adjustment range. Depending on vehicle model this varies between 30 to 70mm or 50 to 90mm. Even after years you can adjust the height quickly and easily due to the dirt resistant trapezoid thread and composite collar. Lowering at the front axle is made using our one piece composite height adjuster, on the rear axle this is the same unless the car has a seperate spring and shock absorber. The supplied rear height adjuster sits either above or below the rear spring.

The perfect suspension setup for more driving pleasure

If you have already made your first performance modifications to your vehicle our KW coilovers Variant 3 will compliment your upgrades. The patented KW-valve technology for separate adjustment of rebound and compression damping allows you to individually setup your suspension.The adjustable KW bottom valve adjusts the low-speed range of the compression level in twelve clicks.

You don’t need any adjusting tools because of the patented compression adjuster at the lower end of the stainless steel housing. The adjustable compression damping with its twelve exact clicks allows you to manually influence body roll, without having to change the spring rate which optimally matches the rebound.

With the individually adjustable rebound setup of the KW coilover Variant 3 “inox-line”, you can directly influence the handling and comfort with its precise click adjustment. Depending on the vehicle type, the rebound valves of the KW twin-tube dampers on the upper end of the piston rod will be adjusted via an integrated adjustment wheel or a twist-adjustment wheel which is included in the delivery content.

By increasing the rebound force via the adjustment wheel body movements are reduced. You will have more stability during high speed cornering. If you change for example the wheel / tire combination (approved by the car manufacturer) to larger wheels, then with a KW coilover Variant 3 “inox-line” you will be able to adjust the car’s handling perfectly.

The shorter KW damper housings enable a comfortable setup despite the lowering. The KW Street Comfort coilovers include comfort-oriented damping and spring characteristics which are perfectly adjusted to each other. Additionally the KW Street Comfort coilovers allow you to individually adjust the rebound damping to suit your driving style and your sense of comfort.

Adjustable comfort – “no more hard times”

With KW Street Comfort coilovers you can influence the handling and comfort by the individually adjustable rebound damping. With 16 precise clicks, you can adjust the KW dampers to a be more comfortable or a little firmer without affecting the compression damping. By increasing the rebound force with the adjustment wheel, the body movements are reduced. Your has more directional and cornering stability. If you change to bigger wheels than the wheel / tire combination which came from the car manufacturer, you can adapt the rebound damping to the driving behaviour of your car and your new alloy rims perfectly. Or you can reduce the rebound forces with a few clicks to gain even more comfort – just as you have always desired from a sport suspension.

Lowering of 10 to 40 mm

The KW Street Comfort coilovers made in stainless steel technology “inox-line” enable a vehicle-specific lowering within the tested adjustment range of 10 to 40 mm. So you do not have to accept a fix lowering of a conventional spring kit any more. The APR Coolant Performance System (CPS) is a massive front-mounted cooler upgrade that dramatically reduces intake air temperature (IAT), minimises heat soak, and provides increased performance! It is 140% larger than stock and features a self-bleeding cooling circuit to ensure it is always operating at peak performance. The Restriction

The factory throttle body is a massive power-robbing restriction. Its cross-sectional area is ~25% smaller than the supercharger’s inlet, causing airflow to plummet at high supercharger speeds. It’s responsible for losses as high as 33 HP!

The Solution

The APR Ultracharger Throttle Body is huge. Its cross-sectional area is ~28% larger than stock, and an additional 5% larger than the supercharger’s inlet. It completely eliminates the throttle body as a point of restriction and allows for maximum airflow into the supercharger.

The APR Ultracharger ECU Upgrade

APR’s incredible Ultracharger ECU Upgrade is why it all just works. It delivers an outstanding driving experience, packed with a smooth daily driving, thrilling wide open throttle acceleration, and unmatched performance. It’s our most advanced 3.0 TFSI software to-date, and it’s included as a free upgrade to all who own an APR Stage II ECU Upgrade.

APR’s Ultracharger ECU Upgrade is required. This included upgrade requires purchase of APR’s Stage I and Stage II ECU Upgrades.

A KW Height Adjustable Coilover Conversion Spring Kit is the ideal solution if you want to keep your cars stock dampers but still enjoy the benefits of adjustable lowering like you would get with coilovers.

Whereas a normal spring kit generally offers a fixed amount of lowering, KW’s coilover spring kit comes with it’s own adjustable spring seats/perches which replace the fixed factory items allowing the lowering level of each to be fine tuned individually.

Taking only a little more time to install than a lowering spring kit (perhaps an extra hour to finetune the lowering amount) this kit replaces the stock, non-adjustable spring seats/perches and generally includes springs precisely matched to the factory dampers, adjustable perches/seats, bump-stops and dust-covers.

Unlike conventional coilovers which replace the adaptive dampers or an expensive electronically adaptable coilover set-up this upgrade goes straight onto the factory adaptive dampers.

Many of the springs provided are progressive rate. Progressive rate springs are ideal for fast road use. The spring is softer in the middle so for small compressions (e.g. small bumps and imperfections in the road) they remain compliant but firms up as it compresses further to provide excellent body control and taut, predictable handling through corners. KW specifically select the best spring for each application on a kit-by-kit basis.

Each kit is carefully tuned to match the factory dampers on the car it is intended for. These are proving to be a popular upgrade on high-end performance models with adaptive damping from the factory.

As with anything KW make, these springs are manufactured to the highest standards. Each part number is individually TUV certified (copy of certificate can be supplied upon request by us or KW) for peace of mind and to meet local legal requirements. Springs are manufactured from Silicum Steel with a tough weather resistant coating.
