A pair of direct replacement uprated intercoolers with deeper cores that equate to 21% more overall capacity compared to standard. Designed to fit with the original boost hoses, mounting points and air guides, these intercoolers are easy to fit and offer great cooling gains.

Technical Data

As part of our expanding Audi product range, AIRTEC Motorsport is proud to launch our RS6 C8 intercooler upgrades suitable for track or fast road use.

In order to ensure there is no noticeable loss in performance during extended periods of hard driving, we have developed larger capacity, freer-flowing intercoolers to replace the smaller and more restrictive OEM items.

The original twin intercoolers are mounted between the bumper and inner arch liners and utilise designated air guides on both the front and back to help direct air to and from the intercooler effectively. Wishing to keep these in place, we opted to concentrate on creating a new core design that was the same width and height but deeper to help increase cooling ability.

The result are direct replacement intercoolers that reuse all the original hoses, mounting points and air guides for simplicity but offer a huge 21% increase in overall capacity in comparison to the OEM intercoolers.

Together with our high-flow end tanks to ensure internal flow is directed correctly and efficiently, the AIRTEC Motorsport intercooler upgrades offer greater cooling efficiency and volume over standard.

The kit reuses all original fixings and includes detailed installation instructions for a simple and effective cooling solution.

TESTED
Data logging of the turbo outlet/pre-intercooler temperatures and the post intercooler air temperatures showed the AIRTEC Motorsport uprated intercoolers maintained a steady rate with no abnormal spikes, despite the turbo temperature seeing a dramatic rise of nearly 170% in a short amount of time.
In comparison, the original intercoolers were also logged and when the data overlaid, it highlighted they weren’t able to resist the temperature spike as well, seeing a rise of 60% over the AIRTEC intercoolers.

MMR Performance Bar and Plate Intercooler – BMW F20/F30

The MMR Performance intercooler for the F20/F30 M135i and M235i improves power and torque output significantly by substantially reducing charge air temperatures versus the OE cooling setup.

Using a huge bar and plate stepped core, our performance intercooler provides almost double the core volume of the OE unit and a frontal area around 70% greater than OE, too.

The core itself uses internal turbulators to improve its cooling performance and the CFD optimised end tanks assist with maintaining the best possible airflow across the core.

Due to the sheer size of the bar and plate core and the higher material ratio than a tube and fin core, this performance unit tips the scale at 11kg, but ultimately still provides the best solution possible when power output and low air charge temperatures are required.

The competition intercooler has the following core size (590mm x 170mm x 100mm = 10.030cm³), providing a 70% larger frontal area and 112% more volume compared to the original intercooler. Our engineers have increased the intercooler core size and efficiency, as well as improved the end tank design to remove any OEM bottlenecks, resulting in increased flow rating and charge cooling properties. Competition Intercooler core with turbulators (weight: 6,6kg). Constructed of the highest quality Tube and Fin intercooler cores combined with cast aluminium optimised by CAD. Flow analyses and simulations were created to optimise the design for best possible Internal Airflow. This intercooler is the best choice when it comes to performance gains and low intake temperatures. A lot less pressure drop then OEM Intercooler. Racingline R600 Intake Package

Racingline R600 Intake Package.

This package includes the R600 intake, silicone hose and turbo elbow. We also have the option to add the turbo muffler delete for those looking for extra noise.

R600 Intake

The new intake is a high-capacity complete replacement airbox, with twin front air intakes, housing a giant TriFoam double-volume filter rated to 600hp.

The PU material used for its construction is the same as the original factory air box and engine-cover, textured to match in to the exact same finish. But it’s not just the appearance that’s built to OEM standard. The mounting points use the factory system, ensuring simple and reliable fitment, with nice details such as the factory drain-hole being retained.

R600 Turbo Elbow

The VWR High Flow Turbo Inlet has been engineered as a simple upgrade to significantly increase air flow into the turbocharger. It’s the perfect complement to either our R600 Cold Air Intake, the standard airbox or indeed any other aftermarket intake system.

A simple fitment, the VWR High Flow Turbo Inlet is a large diameter, free flowing intake elbow, CNC machined from aluminium billet to replace the small and restrictive plastic factory inlet.

Without it the potential of any high flow intake system is wasted because any smooth flowing intake charge has to taper down to pass through the tight and restrictive bend of the factory part.

The result? Back-to-back comparisons against the factory elbow on our flow bench reveals an impressive improvement in airflow. We’ve seen some surprisingly significant power and torque increases from the fitment of the VWR High Flow Turbo Inlet as a result of the faster turbo spool and increased airflow it generates. It’s also possible to hear an enhanced sound from the turbo which comes as another benefit for any enthusiast.

R600 Inlet Pipe

The VWR High-Flow Turbo Inlet Pipe for MQB Golf 7 GTI/R plus Audi S3 has been engineered to increase air flow through to the turbocharger as the perfect compliment our VWR R600 Cold Air Intake or even the standard airbox.

A simple fitment, it replaces the entire restrictive rear factory plastic ‘bellows’ pipe between the airbox and the turbocharger inlet pipe.

This Turbo Inlet Pipe is a large diameter smooth-flowing silicon hose, crucially with enough compliance to allow for adequate engine movement without causing damage to the intake. There are solid turbo inlet pipes on the market, but without this compliance as the engine rocks under power, then something has to give – with a solid pipe it will either be your intake, or the pipe itself.

Back-to-back comparisons with the factory pipe on our flow bench reveals an impressive improvement in airflow, and makes a great compliment to the R600 intake.

R600 Turbo Muffler Delete

The Racingline Performance Turbo Muffler Delete is a simple and cost-effective upgrade for any MQB-platform car using the 1.8T and 2.0T EA888 TSI engines with the IHI IS20 or IS38 turbo.

Our Racingline Performance Turbo Muffler Delete is a sleek single billet design which replaces the restrictive, power-robbing OEM part with a smooth, turbulence free air path exiting the turbo.

What does it do? The standard part is located on the outlet of the turbo compressor and is simply designed to reduce engine bay acoustics. Whilst it subdues the harmonic noises generated by the turbo, it also adds in disruptive turbulence to the airflow right where you don’t want it.

By replacing the standard part with our Racingline Turbo Muffler Delete, you’ll replace this restrictive section with a straight, uninterrupted piece. The result: better boost response giving a little more power, all the while being able to actually hear your turbo working.
