With compression and rebound stage damping, that can be set separately and independently of each other, the damper setup can be customized to your own driving preferences or vehicle changes such as weight, tire characteristics or altered vehicle rigidity. True performance optimization is only possible with this unique, patented system. For example, this allows the compression damping force to be increased and get more grip from the tires, to improve cornering behavior and reduce squat without simultaneously altering the rebound stage damping which is optimally matched to the spring rate – a scenario which results in reduced grip and the associated loss of performance.

The KW coilover kit Variant 3 “inox-line” is the ideal accessory for performance-oriented drivers and tuning enthusiasts who place a high demand on sportiness at their vehicles. The dampers with their “TVR-A” and “TVC-A” technology that are separately adjustable in rebound and compression damping allow an extensive damper setup. So it is easy to directly influence the steering behavior, directional stability, tire grip and handling characteristics for a safe controllability at the limit.

TVR-A rebound stage damping (Twin Valve Rebound – Adjustable):

The two-step, patented “TVR-A” technology enables the small volume to flow through an adjustable, conical low-speed bypass in the case of slow damper speeds, while in the case of higher piston speeds, the main rebound stage valve opens for the large volume flows. This provides a big improvement in terms of ride comfort without influencing the high-speed in the safety-relevant range. There are 16 precise clicks available for individual settings, so you can choose between more comfort or more body control.

TVC-A compression stage damping (Twin Valve Compression – Adjustable):

With 12 precise clicks the adjustable compression stage valve (“TVC-A”-technology) can increase or decrease the cross section in the low-speed valve to achieve either more or less compression stage damping. At the same time, in the case of sudden high piston speeds, the spring pre-tensioned needle valve and the spring pre-tensioned main valve open to their maximum valve cross section, to avoid with its blow-off characteristics undesired progressive force increase in the high-speed range. This allows a better bracing of the vehicle body and at the same time at high wheel acceleration offering more comfort than with conventional valve technology. The compression stage damper setting is always supplied in combination with a separate rebound stage setting, as only an independent 2-way damper setting allows a true performance optimization.

Continuous lowering

The KW Variant 3 allows a maximum or individual lowering within the tested adjustment range. Due to the dirt-resistant trapezoidal thread and the polyamide threaded ring, the continuously lowering can be varied quickly and easily, even after the years.

Once installed, the ST X coilover can easily be adjusted using a polyamide ring on the galvanized, multiple-sealed strut. Adjustment is different for each car, but typically you can expect between 35 and 65mm of lowering on both the front and rear axles. For lowered cars as standard (such as the BMW E9x 3-series) the ST X coilover features a range of 30 to 60mm (front axle) and 25-55mm (rear axle).

Perfect for sporty driving

ST XA coilovers feature KW damping technology which allows the suspension to be made either stiffer or softer depending on the driving conditions. This damping adjustment is made on the upper end of the chromed piston rod allowing the setup to be changed almost instantly. If the rebound force is increased, the car will drive with even more track stability and further reduced bodyroll. If the rebound force is decreased, the car will feel more comfortable when on the move. Any vehicle fitted with ST XA coilovers will act much more agile and sporty compared to standard.

Easy lowering adjustment

Like all ST coilovers the lowering adjustment is made via a continuous thread on the galvanized strut. This even allows the lowering to be made even when the kit is installed by turning the spring plate higher or lower! NOTE: The lowering of each vehicle differs greatly with ST XA coilovers due to the type of construction. For example, older vehicles such as the Honda Civic (EJ9) can be lowered between 40-75mm with ST XA coilovers, while newer models such as the Audi S3 (8P) can be lowered between 10-40mm due to being much lower from the factory.

If you have already made your first performance modifications to your vehicle our KW coilovers Variant 3 will compliment your upgrades. The patented KW-valve technology for separate adjustment of rebound and compression damping allows you to individually setup your suspension.The adjustable KW bottom valve adjusts the low-speed range of the compression level in twelve clicks.

You don’t need any adjusting tools because of the patented compression adjuster at the lower end of the stainless steel housing. The adjustable compression damping with its twelve exact clicks allows you to manually influence body roll, without having to change the spring rate which optimally matches the rebound.

With the individually adjustable rebound setup of the KW coilover Variant 3 “inox-line”, you can directly influence the handling and comfort with its precise click adjustment. Depending on the vehicle type, the rebound valves of the KW twin-tube dampers on the upper end of the piston rod will be adjusted via an integrated adjustment wheel or a twist-adjustment wheel which is included in the delivery content.

By increasing the rebound force via the adjustment wheel body movements are reduced. You will have more stability during high speed cornering.
