<p>Fitment for the G20 318i 320i 330i 330e</p>
<p>The BMW G20 B48 Eventuri intake has been developed to provide the turbo with a less restrictive flow path whilst maintaining low inlet temperatures. Heat and Volume are the main considerations when designing an intake for turbocharged engines. In the G20, the intake system is located next to the exhaust manifold which rapidly heat soaks the engine bay. High temperatures are detrimental for engine performance as the turbo would have to build boost with heated, less dense air and so the only way to ensure IAT’s are kept to a minimum is for a fully sealed intake. This however, results in a restriction with only one stock air feed to draw air in from. During development we noticed an additional opening into the wheel arch area and took advantage of this by adding a secondary feed to our airbox. Furthermore our sealed airbox also has a heat shield with gold reflective to minimise the radiative heat transfer from the exhaust manifold. In order to maximise volume we made the airbox as large as possible with a recess for potential strut braces. The stock convoluted intake tube is replaced with a smooth carbon tube which is also larger in internal volume with a starting internal diameter of 111mm (4.4″) smoothly tapering down to match the turbo inlet. The tube provides a smooth path from the filter to the turbo inlet. Finally we use a custom made high-flow dry filter which is ISO tested for filtration performance and has a larger filtration area than the stock filter.</p>

<p><strong>The Eventuri G20 B48 intake system consists of a number of components engineered to perform a specific purpose and fabricated to the highest of standards. We use 100% pre-preg carbon fiber with no fibreglass which means we can achieve a smooth internal surface to maintain smoother airflow. Here are the details for each component and the design ethos behind them:</strong></p>

<p><strong>Dual Feed Carbon Fiber Airbox</strong></p>

<p>Crafted from Prepreg Carbon Fiber, the airbox serves 2 objectives &#8211; to seal the filter against engine bay heat and to provide a dual cold air feed. Since the airbox is positioned next to the exhaust manifold it is crucial for the filter to be fully sealed so we designed the airbox to encapsulate the filter and at the same time provide a large internal volume. To seal the intake tube we have designed a laser cut plate with a rubber sealing strip which secures to the airbox. The intake tube passes through the plate and the rubber seal ensures heated air does not enter the airbox. To further minimise heat soak, there is an additional heat shield with a gold reflective layer on the exhaust manifold side which effectively combats the radiant heat transfer.</p>
<p>Having a fully sealed airbox results in the problem of having a restriction for the cold air feed. The stock airbox draws air from a single duct which extends to the front bumper area. During development we identified another area to draw cold air from which was a gap between the wheel arch and the chassis on which the airbox sits. To utilise this feed we extended a scoop at the back of our design which protrudes into the wheel arch and can even be seen after installation behind the front wheel. This second feed allows the turbo to draw from a larger area therefore reducing the restriction.</p>

<p><strong>Carbon Inlet Tube</strong></p>

<p>The G20 B48 OEM airbox system was updated in cars built after November 2018 where the airflow sensor was replaced with a temperature sensor in the inlet tube. Prior to this date, all airbox systems had an airflow sensor and for this reason we offer 2 variations. The V1 intake which has an inlet tube to take the MAF (airflow) sensor and the V2 intake for cars built after November 2018 which use a temperature sensor. The difference in the tubes can be see below.</p>

<p>The stock inlet tube has a flexible and convoluted section to provide movement with the engine. This however also adds the possibility of turbulence in the flow path as there are multiple faces which can cause eddies. We replace this with our carbon tube which is smooth and also has a larger internal volume. Unlike most aftermarket intakes we maximised the size of our intake tube, the OEM inlet tube has an internal diameter of 80.8mm or 3.2” at the filter end. Our tube for cars built after November 2018 has an internal diameter of 109mm or 4.3”. This equates to a massive 82% increase in cross sectional area over stock. The tube smoothly tapers down to the stock turbo inlet to ensure airflow remains as laminar as possible. The tube also has CNC machined fitting for the temperature sensor and the breather adapter.</p>
<p><strong>Bespoke Cone Filter</strong></p>

<p>Our cone filter is made from a non-woven mesh material which is double layered and is ISO tested to ensure that filtration is in line with OEM standards. The filter is cleanable and very stable at high temperatures with the base material being Urethane. The filter incorporates and internal flow guiding cone to help aid the airflow to converge while reducing the possibility of a stagnation point in the middle of the filter space. The filter medium has a significantly larger surface volume than the stock panel filter.</p>

Due to its high-quality finish, the use of struts made from stainless steel, corrosion resistant springs and bump stops as well as compatible components stands for long driving pleasure &#8211; not just the car&#8217;s life.</p>
<h4>Continuous lowering</h4>
<p>With the KW coilover Variant 1 you can achieve maximum lowering in the tested adjustment range. Depending on vehicle model this varies between 30 to 70mm or 50 to 90mm. Even after years you can adjust the height quickly and easily due to the dirt resistant trapezoid thread and composite collar. Lowering at the front axle is made using our one piece composite height adjuster, on the rear axle this is the same unless the car has a seperate spring and shock absorber. <p>The KW Clubsport coilovers provide the ability to adjust for different track surfaces, sharp turns and abrupt elevation changes. The KW Clubsport is in its home environment on the famous twists and turns of the 20.8 km long Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit.</p>
<p>As a supporting suspension manufacturer to numerous different racing series. KW had claimed 6 ADAC Zurich 24-hour victories within 10 years at the famous Nürburgring circuit and the ADAC GT Masters 2011 Championship. More then 70 race teams are equipped with KW coilover systems in the VLN Endurance Championship series. These race teams rely on KW&#8217;s racing expertise and experience for their vehicle setup. This information is mirrored in the development of the KW Clubsport coilover systems.</p>
<p>The KW Clubsport 2-way and KW Clubsport 3-way (with separate reservoir) provides the user numerous adjustment settings. This allows to user to dial the suspension setup to his/hers driving style and to adjust or match the tire/wheel setup of the vehicle.</p>
<p>Rebound and compression dampening is independently adjustable by hand via the integrated click adjusters. Adjustable top mounts are optional on certain applications.</p>

<p>The rebound adjuster knob provides 16 precise clicks to personally dial in your desired vehicle setup. Thus allowing you the possibility to influence wheel/tire loads or take into concern chassis characteristics. Independent from rebound adjustment is the compression dampening, 12 precise adjustment clicks are provided to adjust the low-speed dampening. Most notably used to dial in wheel/tire setup.</p>

<p>Using the Nordschleife as it&#8217;s testing grounds and the 7-post rig, KW developed it&#8217;s 3-way Clubsport coilover kit. Wheel loads, vehicle weight and chassis reinforcements (increased body stiffness) can all be taken into consideration with adjustment capabilities of the 3-way Clubsport. Similar to KW Competition 3-way coilovers, low-speed and high-speed compression adjustment is done via KW&#8217;s patented two-valve control on the reservoir.</p>
<p>By hand, you can vary the low-speed compression damping with six precise clicks at the purple adjustment wheel. The gold adjustment wheel allows the user to change the high-speed compression damping with 14 precise clicks. Rebound adjust is provided with 16 adjustable clicks providing a noticeable change the rebound adjustment setting. A reduction in rebound forces provides a more comfortable ride quality suitable for highway driving.</p>

The KW Street Comfort coilovers include comfort-oriented damping and spring characteristics which are perfectly adjusted to each other. Additionally the KW Street Comfort coilovers allow you to individually adjust the rebound damping to suit your driving style and your sense of comfort.</p>
<h4>Adjustable comfort &#8211; &#8220;no more hard times&#8221;</h4>
<p>With KW Street Comfort coilovers you can influence the handling and comfort by the individually adjustable rebound damping. With 16 precise clicks, you can adjust the KW dampers to a be more comfortable or a little firmer without affecting the compression damping. By increasing the rebound force with the adjustment wheel, the body movements are reduced. Your has more directional and cornering stability. If you change to bigger wheels than the wheel / tire combination which came from the car manufacturer, you can adapt the rebound damping to the driving behaviour of your car and your new alloy rims perfectly. Or you can reduce the rebound forces with a few clicks to gain even more comfort &#8211; just as you have always desired from a sport suspension.</p>
<h4>Lowering of 10 to 40 mm</h4>
<p>The KW Street Comfort coilovers made in stainless steel technology &#8220;inox-line&#8221; enable a vehicle-specific lowering within the tested adjustment range of 10 to 40 mm. So you do not have to accept a fix lowering of a conventional spring kit any more. Due to the delicate processing and use of high quality components, the KW Street Comfort coilover struts in stainless steel are 100 per cent corrosion-resistant and have an unlimited life.</p>
