<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Presenting a World first – the Eventuri Hybrid Airbox System, a breakthrough intake solution for the iconic BMW E46 M3. This system delivers the aggressive, race-inspired sound of the CSL Airbox with the seamless driveability and plug-and-play simplicity of a traditional intake. Until now, E46 M3 owners wanting the CSL airbox sound had to compromise on running the engine without the MAF sensor, often leading to expensive ECU conversions or remaps, where throttle response and driveability were negatively affected. Our Hybrid Airbox solves this problem and delivers the sound and power of a CSL airbox without the need for a remap, as well as the driveability and smooth performance delivery of a regular intake.</p>

We are offering the airbox without the intake to allow existing E46 M3 owners with Eventuri intakes to be able to reuse their filter housing and scoop. <p class="wp-block-paragraph">We are providing all the parts required to install the airbox and get the car on the road. Usually with CSL style airboxes, there are additional parts required such as the ECU tune and breather pipes. Since our airbox uses the OEM MAF Sensor, there is no need for an aftermarket tune and we also provide the breather hoses. Here is a cost breakdown of additional parts required for CSL style airboxes. The only part required would be the SMG reservoir relocation kit.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Main airbox section houses the 6 trumpets as well as the breather system connectors. Made from prepreg carbon fiber, the airbox has been designed to resonate under load and produce the sought after CSL sound. One of the challenges of the construction was to ensure the long-term reliability of the interface between the trumpets and the airbox. This was resolved by using mechanical fasteners and gaskets to ensure an airtight seal which would not be affected by heat cycles and vibrations. A similar method was also used for the breather adapters.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The trumpets have been made with a glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic. The injection molding process ensures accuracy while keeping the inside surfaces smooth for airflow. This was more advantageous over making each one in carbon fiber as we can ensure perfect form for each trumpet with an accuracy not attainable with carbon. We also added CNC machined stainless steel rings to the trumpets to ensure that they do not deform when the silicon couplers are tightened onto them.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The snorkel or lid of the airbox smoothly channels airflow from the intake to the trumpet area. This section also incorporates the MAF tube section where the OEM sensor is secured to a CNC machined MAF boss. The snorkel secures to the main airbox section using custom made screws which cut into plastic securing clips ensuring that they do not come loose under vibration.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>CFD OPTIMISED</strong> The overall shape of the airbox was optimised over several iterations using CFD simulations to ensure the trumpets had adequate flow without suffering from starvation due to restrictions in geometry or turbulence.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The filter housing comprises of our bespoke generation 2 filter, stainless steel bracket and the carbon fiber housing. The carbon pod shrouds the reverse mounted filter and smoothly shapes the airflow down to the plenum. This is a key feature of the intake design where we have removed the tortuous flow path of the OEM airbox and therefore reduced the pressure loss through the whole system. This also ensures that the airflow is smooth when entering the MAF tube section of the airbox to allow the sensor to operate without errors.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>PATENTED TECHNOLOGY</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Our patented filter housings have a smooth reduction in cross sectional area as they shroud the filters and taper down to the tubing. This geometry invokes the Venturi effect where the airflow accelerates whilst maintaining laminar conditions. It can be thought of as a large velocity stack – below is a diagram to show the comparison between our patented design and a regular intake system. Our bespoke filters aid the airflow moving through the housings and allow for an even velocity profile as the airflow exits the housings. <p class="wp-block-paragraph">100% Prepreg carbon fibre with a CNC machined collar – the air scoop forces ambient air directly into the filter opening. This scoop simply clicks into place in the front right hand brake duct and effectively saturates the mouth of the intake with cold air. It has been designed to take up half the height of the duct in order to allow airflow to still continue through the duct for the brakes. The scoop is so effective that even after a hard drive, the aluminium cowl at the mouth of the intake will still feel cold to touch.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>DYNO TESTING</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This intake has been independently dyno tested by Dream Automotive in the UK. Tests were done back to back against the stock airbox and several runs were taken with each configuration. The dyno results show a consistent gain throughout the RPM range which can be attributed to the smoother pathway through the intake and airbox to the throttle bodies. The performance gain translates on the road to increased part throttle and full throttle response with the car pulling much more eagerly to the redline.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">034Motorsport has developed this comprehensive performance intake solution for the turbocharged 3.0 TFSI engine found in the latest generation B9 Audi S4/S5. Subsequently, the P34 Cold Air Intake System offers discerning enthusiasts measurable increases in horsepower and torque, sporty induction and turbocharger sounds, and a functional airbox and inlet hose design.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Throughout the development process, multiple designs were modeled, prototyped, and tested – all to ensure that the P34 Cold Air Intake System delivers measurable performance benefits and superb fitment. The result is a partially-enclosed airbox which uses the factory fresh air inlet duct and heat shield, while housing a massive 5″ inlet conical air filter, and a matching CFD-optimized filter tube.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">MINIMIZING UNNECESSARY FILTER SHROUDING:<br>034Motorsport focuses on optimizing every aspect of the intake system across a broad range of variables and compromises. A critical component of a high-flowing performance intake is the ability for air to flow around and into the filter. If the air cannot flow freely around the filter, it will be restricted from getting into it.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Many aftermarket kits fit too large of a filter in an enclosure that cannot accommodate its size, thus choking the filter and reducing its overall flow. This often happens when a product is engineered for one variable at the expense of others. 034Motorsport conducted extensive tests and refined its development of the intake design to allow for maximum airflow surrounding the air filter, allowing for optimal airflow to, and through, the filter.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The final result is the right size filter in the right size filter housing, creating maximum airflow and performance with OEM level filtering; the ultimate goal of any intake system. Be cautious of any intake that brags only of air filter size, without taking into account the detrimental effects of shrouding the filter.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Presenting the perfect addition to our F90 M5 intake system to optimise the flow path all the way to the turbos. Our carbon inlets have a larger volume than the stock inlets by maintaining a larger diameter all the way to the turbos. The stock inlets narrow down immediately after the connection to the intake which creates a restriction especially at higher boost levels. We have alleviated this restriction and also designed the curvature to be as smooth as possible allowing the turbos to reach peak boost sooner.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">During development we also tested inlets with larger openings and redesigned the intake to have an oversized connection to the inlets. However, tests showed no further benefit and so we proceeded with this version, which allows our current intake to be used without any modification while producing the best performance gains.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Fitment for the G01 X3 M40i and G02 X4 M40i</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The BMW X3 M40i Eventuri intake has been developed to provide the turbo with a less restrictive flow path whilst maintaining low inlet temperatures.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In the M40i, the intake system’s proximity to the exhaust manifold poses a challenge, rapidly heating the engine bay. Elevated temperatures compromise engine performance, necessitating a solution that ensures minimal intake air temperatures (IATs). Our solution comprises of a fully sealed intake system, designed to counteract heat soak and prevent the turbo from drawing in heated air.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Moreover, our sealed airbox features a heat shield lined with gold reflective, effectively minimizing radiative heat transfer from the exhaust manifold. To optimize airflow volume, we’ve maximized the airbox size, incorporating a recess to accommodate the strut brace seamlessly.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Replacing the stock convoluted intake tube, our design employs a prepreg carbon tube, boasting a much larger internal volume with an internal diameter of 109mm (4.3″) that seamlessly tapers down to match the turbo inlet, ensuring an uninterrupted airflow path. Complementing this design is a custom-made high-flow dry filter, rigorously tested for ISO-certified filtration performance and boasting a larger filtration area compared to the stock filter.</p>
