DBA’s Wave Design draws inspiration from the motorbike world to produce an aesthetically pleasing rotor with even greater cooling, and therefore, heat resistance. The unique Wave cut increases surface area, allowing for an even greater dispersal of heat, meaning maintaining optimal temperature for pad performance. The Wave Design also reduces weight of the rotor, and as the weight is at a point furthest from the hub, the greatest impact on performance is realised. All of these features are enhanced with the XD cross-drilled and dimpled design, resulting in the ultimate rotor in terms of aesthetics and heat management.

The 4000 Series take the same excellent XG-150 cast iron alloy used in the Street Series, and are further enhanced with TSP – Thermal Stability Profiling. This additional heat treatment process takes detail down to the atomic level, aligning the grain structure the compound to produce a uniform material. The result of this is the 4000 Series HD, a superior quality rotor able to withstand greater levels of heat, for a longer service life considerable resistance to warping from excessive heat events. Standard on every 4000 Series rotor is the inclusion of Thermographic Heat Paint Markings, allowing the user to identify peak braking temperatures in extreme conditions. 4000 Series rotors are recommended for performance street cars, heavily laden ute’s or 4WD’s, and for towing.

5000 Series rotors can be improved with the XD cross-drilled and dimpled design, having undergone additional CNC machining to yield 84 cross-drilled holes, and 36 dimples, to allow maximum heat transfer, along with dust and gas removal. This is achieved whilst minimising the propensity to crack often seen in drilled rotors.
